Our Pension

The City-Pension-Morgentau, formerly Kühn's Restaurant and Pension Schmidt, one of the oldest hotels in the old town of Ilmenau. Built in 1895, hosted here until 1901 Reimund Hartmann especially citizens of this area. After work, you came to the simple yet comfortable guest rooms along with beer and cards. Still unnamed, the house was acquired by the Lange family, which sold it in 1932 to Alfred Kühn.

In 1989, the Schmidt family took over the house. Initially used as a restaurant and inn, they focused later to use the house as a pension.

On 01.06.2011 me, Sarah Kopriva, beacme the owner and opened the City-Pension "Morgentau".

I offer single and double rooms in a modern and sophisticated atmosphere. After a rich breakfast you will be rested and going out to explore around Ilmenau.

Whether for a weekend or for an entire vacation, just spend relaxing days in our house.
